Halcyon Hospice & Palliative Care adds Dr. Luis Felipe (Phil) Ramos, Jr. as Medical Director
Northglenn, CO – Halcyon Hospice and Palliative Care, a community-based, not-for-profit hospice and palliative care organization which serves patients and families in the Denver metro area and northern Colorado, has hired Luis Felipe (Phil) Ramos, Jr., M.D. in the role of Medical Director.
Dr. Ramos is a graduate of the Baylor College of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Nephrology and board eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine after recently completing his Interprofessional Palliative Care Fellowship at Harvard University.
Dr. Ramos brings more than 15 years of experience as a physician, including an appointment as an Instructor of Medicine in Nephrology at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, 10 years in private practice in the Denver metro area as a nephrologist, and service as a medical director of an outpatient dialysis unit with DaVita. He also brings recent experience as a hospice and palliative care physician with The Denver Hospice.

Teaching is my passion and I also look forward to sharing my clinical knowledge and experience with my hospice colleagues as we strive to provide the highest level of compassionate hospice care on the Front Range,” Dr. Ramos said.
In his role as Medical Director for Halcyon Hospice and Palliative Care, Dr. Ramos will provide clinical oversight and direction for more than 170 hospice patients on a daily basis. Dr. Ramos will lead a hospice team of specially trained clinical staff, including Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Chaplains and Certified Nurse Aides, all of whom are experts in the care of patients with advanced and terminal illness.
